Director/Founder/Producer's Bio


carr Lynnette Carr-Hicks is no stranger to the Music world, she started singing in the church at a very young age. She always performed at family gatherings, and always was very entertaining. Lynnette would even invite her brother and cousins to be apart of her showcase, and the rest was history.

Lynnette is a graduate of Westbury High School and a Uniondale High School Music Teacher. She has earned a B.S. Degree in Music Business and Vocal Performance from Berklee College of Music and completed a M.S. in Education from C.W. Post, Long Island University. Lynnette has recorded several Japanese Children's albums with the accompaniment of her daughter, Joynell Carr and two former Westbury students.

Over the course of her years at Berklee College of Music her Professor, and mentor Mr. Walter Beasley is a an accomplished contemporary Jazz artist, saxophonist and vocalist. His areas of expertise maximized her musical performance skills, vocal delivery technique, sound production and R&B /Jazz style. While attending Berklee Lynnette has worked with the best in the business, Lalah Hathaway, Roy Hargrove, Antonio Hart, Al Jareau, and Phil Collins.

She is the former Director of the L.C. Community Choir of Westbury. The choir participated in the 2000 Inter-Church Choir at Madison Square Garden. The choir won 1st place in the McDonald's Gospel Fest 2001, on the great stage of Westbury Music Fair. Lynnette also, had the great honor to be on the radio with Cissy Houston on 98.7 Kiss FM, when her choir won first place at the McDonald's Gospel Fest. 1st Place in the Hicks Nursery Gospel Competition, and 2nd place in the Pathmark Gospel Competition 2000. L.C. Community Choir also,appeared on stage with the LL Cool J Camp"Camp Cool J". After many years of being apart of the McDonald's Gospel Fest competition the producer Curtis Farrow ask Lynnette to be a Judge, Darlene Lov, Melissa Morgan, George Fason, just to name a few.

The choir was featured on ABC Channel 7, with Roz Abrams and on UPN 9 News in New York. Lynnette was featured "As a woman who dedicated her life to young heavenly angels."

Lynnette displayed her talent in the Broadway Musical "Thoroughly Modern Millie" as Muzzy. She also affiliated herself in numerous Off-Broadway musicals in the NY Tri-State area., leading roles in "For the Love of My Black Women & The Harlem Renaissance Lynnette received numerous citation awards from the Town of North Hempstead for her great accomplishments in the community of Westbury, Lynnette had the pleasure to perform on the great stage of Carnegie Hall, with her music department at Westbury High School.

In 2004, over one thousand members of the Westbury community gathered at the Westbury High School auditorium to experience what was without a doubt, the finest demonstration of vocal and theatrical talent that is being nurtured within Westbury High School. Lynnette's Musical Revue Show featured great music from the past to the present. The show was flawlessly directed, costumed, and choreographed by Lynnette which was amazing! It was featured on the WB Channel 11, Long Island News Channel 12 and Long Island News Channel 55. The students loved her so much, that in 2005 she was picked as Grand Marshall at the Westbury High School Homecoming Parade.

In 2007 some of her students were on WLIB 106.1 Radio show with Host"Ashtra", and 107.5 WBLS with Guy Black afternoon morning show. Without a doubt Lynnette truly enjoys working with her community. Her mentor, Principal and friend, Dr. Pless Dickerson saw an amazing talent in Lynnette that he insisted on her putting on fabulous shows, and the rest was history.

Her goal is to share the knowledge & experience that was offered to her during her professional career. Lynnette is grateful for the love and respect that has been bestowed upon her. This phenomenal women or as it was said on UPN 9 news "A women who has dedicate her life to young heavenly angels." Was definitely sent here for a reason!!!
